Performance e educa??o: rela??es, significados e contextos de investiga??o
Pereira, Marcelo de Andrade;
Educa??o em Revista , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-46982012000100013
Abstract: the following article presents and discusses the concept of performance. it intends to relate the meanings of performance to educational practice. as a meta-philosophical investigation this paper tries to analyze performance (making performance itself the object of investigation) considering the contributions of anthropology, theory of literature, linguistics, arts and pedagogy. to this extent this text makes an attempt to retain the meaning of pedagogical practice as based in aesthetical principles. as one might expect, the investigation takes place in the context of performance - art, communication and culture - the purpose being, to prove (justify) a theory of performance in education, because by taking the proposition of a practical performance pedagogy further, it points the way for educational action of an expressive character/nature. as well as qualitatively evaluating the aesthetic experience, and an aesthetic education, the investigation also intends to measure the teacher's communication, empirically (another words, quantitatively).
A dimens?o performativa do gesto na prática docente
Pereira, Marcelo de Andrade;
Revista Brasileira de Educa??o , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-24782010000300012
Abstract: the present study, in the form of an essay, argues, from a philosophical point of view, about the meaning of gestures in general and in teaching practice. the analysis proceeds from the differentiation of the meaning of the gesture from a mere motor gesture to symbolic or expressive gestures from which one perceives the proper meaning of gesture for this investigation. it is inferred that the performative, and therefore expressive, dimension of the gesture allows for the creation of a space for experimentation and construction of knowledge that is qualitatively distinct from the ordinary and not regulated by merely biological, cognitive or instrumental purposes. this perspective comprehends gesture from its performative dimension as an aesthetic act. the study describes and analyzes the contents, the objects, the conditions and the effects of the aesthetic element with regard to a performative teaching practice. the investigation is supported by the intuitions of osman lins, walter benjamin, hans ulrich gumbrecht, jean galard, baldine saint girons, among others.
A dimens o performativa do gesto na prática docente

Abstract: This article discusses the creative process of the theatre group Usina do Trabalho do Ator – UTA – from the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. It presents an overview of some spectacles of the group since its creation, questioning the notion of actor/author, and staging as narrative. It also discusses the limits between reality and fiction in the spectacles of UTA. The analysis is basically guided by Walter Benjamin’s writings on experience, narration and tradition. It also deals with the concepts of artistic creation from French essayist Paul Valéry.

Energy and Power Engineering (EPE) , 2019, DOI: 10.4236/epe.2019.118019
Abstract:
The development of power conversion systems based on fuel cells has been demanding reliability studies since the requirements associated with cost and durability of these technological products have become fundamental to their acceptance by the energy market. The experimental part of the reliability study presented in this work consisted of performing life tests with single proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs). The proposed reliability analysis methodology covered the application of qualitative and quantitative techniques. In the qualitative approach, a Failure Mode and Effect Analysis was developed in order to identify and evaluate all potential failures associated with the operation of fuel cells. In the quantitative approach, a statistical analysis was applied to the sample data generated in long-term steady-state tests of these devices. A two-parameter exponential distribution was fitted to data and the maximum likelihood estimate for the mean time to failure (MTTF) of the fuel cells was calculated. It is important to point out that the tests performed under the scope of this study were the first long-term experiments performed with the fuel cells produced in the laboratories of IPEN-CNEN/SP, Brazil. Although the results indicated that fuel cell performance and durability were still at a level below the targets normally established for similar commercial devices, the improvement of the main components of PEMFCs has been the objective of several projects developed at the institute. Thus, the main benefit brought by this study is the proposed methodology, which can be implemented as part of a reliability growth analysis of the fuel cells and can be integrated into the design process of these devices.

Abstract: the increasing environmental degradation and the recognition of critical problems nowadays, mainly energetic questions, have intensified the concerning by researchers and science teachers in order to consider in science teaching activities on aspects related to interactions between human beings and the environment. the necessity of incorporating questions related to values and the interactions between science, technology and society in science teaching activities began to be recognized as crucial by science teachers and experts. an objective resulting of this tendency is to approach science, technology and society (sts) as a whole of proposals to science teaching. in brazil there are few researches in science teaching trying to explore theses possibilities and few classroom experiences dealing with this approach. this research was carried out from may to november, 1996. it systematically collected data in one class of 12 years olds brazil's fundamental school (from 7 to 14 year olds). a discussion with pupils of a national project installed in brazil in 1975 to product ethanol as an alternative source of energy for cars was promoted. a complete set of activities applying diversified teaching procedures and pedagogic materials were planned and carried out. the results indicate that, if we can offer to pupils opportunities for discussing and reflecting, through diversified teaching procedures and a rich environment in terms of pupils proposals and questioning, we can bring to classrooms different dimensions related to science, technology, society and environment, from specific examples close to pupils, about science and technology development.

Abstract: we present dynamic and static photoluminescence studies on polymer blends of conjugated poly[2-methoxy-5-(2'-ethylhexyloxy)-p-phenylenevinylene] (meh-ppv) with polystyrene-co-1-pyrenyl methyl methacrylate and its copolymer poly(styrene-co-2-ethylhexyl acrylate-co-1-pyrenylmethyl methacrylate) (with 9 mol% and 19 mol% of 2-ethylhexyl acrylate units and 0.06 mol% of 1-pyrenyl). pyrenyl-labeled polystyrene and its copolymers were synthesized by emulsion polymerization and characterized by 13c and 1h-nmr, ftir, gpc, dsc, and uv-vis. spin-coating films of the blends were prepared from chloroform solutions with 0.1, 0.5, 1.0, and 5.0 wt% of meh-ppv. the miscibility of these systems was studied by non-radiative energy transfer processes between the 1-pyrenyl moieties (the energy donor) and meh-ppv (the energy acceptor). the relative emission intensities and the fluorescence lifetimes of the donor showed that the miscibility of meh-ppv and the copolymers is greater than that of meh-ppv and polystyrene and this was confirmed by epifluorescence optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy.

Abstract: practical activities contribute to interest and learning in science, especially when they require investigation and problematization. so, the goal of the study was to understand how science teachers in fundamental education perceive these activities and also to know if there are applied and the reasons for their use/not use in everyday schooling. the study interviewed science teachers, who had indicated difficulties and who used practical activities rarely. when they are used, it happens after theoretical study, to illustrate theory only. teachers justify rarely using these practices because they feel insecure and they do not have school structure and human support. teachers value practical activities but perceive practical activities only as complementary to theoretical classes. teachers understand the necessity for more practical activities, but feel anguish because they do not make it happen. the researchers considered difficulties expressed by teachers and give some suggestions to encourage practical activities in brazilian educational public system.
